James Wade continues World Grand Prix campaign chasing another title

James Wade efficiently took care of business on Sunday night to pick up his first World Grand Prix win because 2014, beating John Henderson 2-1, although there were a few moments.
The Machine is look forward to his tie from Mervyn King with real confidence, because he chases a ninth PDC major name, along with a third in Dublin.
It has been some time, I forgot the way to win here I believe, he told The Darts Show Podcast.
Its good. Its a win, and that I can move onto the next one. Its great to find that first one under the belt
After a dip in form in the last several years, Wade feels hes getting back to where he belongs, also has enjoyed a spike in fortunes in the past 12 months.
He claimed victories to end year on a high – and things have lasted with five Pro Tour titles this year – .
Unfortunately I have gone through a true bad portion of my career for the last three or four decades, he said.
Its [down to] myself maybe not putting sufficient effort in, rather than wanting to be there. You have a couple of years of not and not putting enough in wanting to be there, and also each of those mixed up with not doing well, it attracts negatives.
Now theres not that many reverses there and theres a good deal more advantages.
Growing becomes a habit, also shedding becomes a habit. I have been doing just a small bit of the winning rather than a lot of the losing.
Even the Grand Prix attracts its own challenges for players thedouble-in arrangement, but it is also one of two championships where set-play is used, as opposed to match-play.
Wade found himself degree at one set apiece against Henderson, despite winning more legs up to that point, and he feels directly match-play provides atrue reflection of ability.
I have always favored match-play as opposed to places, he further added.
With sets, you can acquire more legs but lose a match. I have never understood that.
I really dont think a good deal of the period [set-play] is a real reflection. It also gives people something to hide behind. Individuals manage to nick a match in places and can hide behind not playing well. Whereas in match-play, its a game. You win, if you buy to 10. If you dont you lose.
It is as straightforward as that.
The company end of this darting season is well and truly upon us, with the Grand Prix and Grand Slam among the contests leading intothat the granddaddy of them in the Ally Pally at less than 10 weeks time.
Wade holds the television occasions in higher esteem, Even though the remaining portion of the calendar keeps players on their feet with all the schedule.
It is two completely different games. Floors tournaments and European Tours, it is not the same as that which I call a correct TV championship, he explained.
Its not even close. Its possible to play not well and nicely in one from the opposite. I simply think its entirely different. Some people can play really well on the floor, but if they get onto the stage, not really well. I really dont think both are comparable.
The left-hander can be in awe of a number of his peers endurance, and understands he has to pick and select tournaments to sit out.
He added:There are some players that I cant believe still do all the tournaments. The likes of Peter Wright and Daryl Gurney. They hardcore. They visit everything! I dont understand how they do this !
But for most players, its about peaking at the greatest championships, as well as the 36-year-old is confident he is currently doing just that in Dublin.
Next up is a second-round meeting with King. Today he has tasted success, and wade is back to winning ways at the place that is Irish, he is not likely to want to wait for another five years to get his second one.
It ought to be good. It needs to be fascinating, he explained of his interview with King.
Hopefully it is interesting and I win.
Coverage of this World Grand Prix proceeds on Tuesday night from 7pm on Sky Sports Action & Main Event and operates throughout the week, right up until Saturdays final from the Citywest Hotel
